Our History
Jeanne’s Shoppe is a resale boutique in the heart of The District in downtown Quincy, IL, that caters to women in search of high-end fashion at affordable prices.
Jeanne Sampson opened the boutique in October 2004 at 634 Maine and later moved to the current location at 106 North 6th Street. When Jeanne retired, she sold the shop to longtime consigner Cindy Miller, who took over in January 2013.
Cindy continues the tradition that Jeanne started: quality apparel and accessories at bargain prices, friendly and helpful staff, and an inviting shopping experience that department stores and online shops just can’t provide.

If I buy secondhand clothes, won’t they be worn and outdated?
Not at Jeanne’s Shoppe! We’re not a thrift store, we’re a consignment shop. We only accept high-quality, designer clothing that is in new or nearly new condition.

Shopping at a local consignment boutique has many advantages over using an online consignment store. As a customer, you benefit by being able touch and feel the fabrics, try on clothes to ensure the best fit (we have two dressing rooms!) and get help building outfits with experienced staff. Most importantly, shopping at local stores supports the local economy and business owners and employees who live in your community.
Will I have to sift through racks and racks of unorganized clothing?
Not at all. Our store is designed like any other clothing boutique – with organized racks separated by size and type of clothing. All our items are clearly marked. We also have lovely mannequin displays so you can easily view some of our newest styles.
Does Jeanne’s Shoppe sell new items, too?
Yes! We carry new, trendy jewelry – including necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, and the popular snap charm interchangeable jewelry. We also have new swimsuits, scarves, sunglasses, and handbags, including Vera Bradley bags.
Do you offer a loyalty card for frequent shoppers?
Yes, be sure to pick up a Super Shoppers punch card the next time you are in the store. For every $200 you spend, you get a $10 store credit.
I just cleaned out my closet. Can I bring in my used clothes?
We accept clothing by appointment only, and only take clothes that are neat, clean, and in style. They must be free of stains, holes, and pilling, and have all working zippers and buttons. You must bring the clothes in on hangers at your appointed time.

Keep in mind that we change our inventory based on the season. That means we only accept spring and summer clothing from mid-February through Memorial Day. We accept fall and winter clothing mid-August through Thanksgiving.
